2021.09.28 09:41 CyberDad0621 Provisionally passed CISSP today at 100 questions

Been studying for 3 months, got 10+ security experience on SOC, GRC but I guess my security manager experience helped the most. 1-2 study hours every weeknight and 6-8 hours every weekend. Lockdown helped.
Study materials: Sybex Official Study Guide (9th edition) and Practice exam (3rd edition) - finished all practice exams online and 60-70% of flash cards. My first round of exams averaged around 60-75%. Then did second round (after finishing all 1k+ questions) and was getting 85-90% which made me feel more confident. Its important to understand not just the concepts (correct and wrong answers) but also how questions are asked - finding key words and distractors in the question. This will help you save time.
I had days in between where I just didnt study, watched netflix the whole day. Just make sure you know you're within your schedule of finishing the book at least a month before your exam. I also joined Luke Ahmed's facebook group - occasionally checked sample questions posted by Luke and members.
Videos - watched almost all CISSP Destination Certification mind map and Prabh Nair's. Watched Kelly Henderhan's cybrary videos too.
Key takeaways - not a technical exam but knowledge of technical stuff and how they work definitely helped! I'd say 20-30% technical questions - rest are situational and how security plays a role in running a business.
On the day of the exam - get some sleep, took my allergy meds as a precaution (you dont want to sneeze inside the testing centre and let them think you got covid). Played with my kids to relax my mind, arrived early at the exam centre (dont worry, your exam wont start until you press Start in the computer so enough time for registration, etc). I definitely learned a lot during my study journey so I can say this exam is worth it, best one I've taken so far (I have ITIL, CEH, CISM, ISO27001 LAC).
Book your exam as early as possible to have a target and commit that you will study.
Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer without violating my NDA.

2021.09.28 09:41 RigatoniPasta Does anyone else like Deltarune more than Undertale?

The lack of toxic fandom is great as well as the updated graphics and combat. The music hasn’t been overplayed to death yet and everything about the game just feels like an upgrade. Am I alone in this?

2021.09.28 09:41 subota999 Too scared to get excited about something exciting

Something big and good is hopefully happening soon...I'm terrified that something will go wrong before then or while it's happening. I want to be excited but my mind is already trying to find a million things to be anxious about, I don't know how I will manage when it actually comes time. I'm so worried 😣 I'm trying to just be present but you know how that is. I feel like I can't be too excited in case something goes wrong 😣

2021.09.28 09:41 Miller891 [Recruiting][EST][21+][No Entry-Level Training] - 5th Rangers

Intro - Who Are We?
5th Rangers is a small ArmA unit, emulating a real life Ranger Reconnaissance Company from the U.S. Army Rangers. We focus on direct action, intelligence gathering and raids rather than FID, mostly due to ArmA limitations.
Training in the 5th Rangers
As mentioned above, there is no Entry-Level Training. We have selected to take a more "handsfree" approach to training. There is no initial training through upon acceptance into the unit, as most of the larger units do. We feel compulsory training can be tedious and burn players out.
Unit Events:
5th Rangers conduct weekly operations on Sundays at 1400 Eastern Time/2000 Central European Time (1800 Zulu). This allows a wide variety of NA and EU players to take part. Our operations last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, but generally average at 2 hours.
Unit Features:

Unit Composition:
5th Rangers is a light infantry special operations unit. It consists of two teams inspired by the US Army's Regimental Reconnaissance Company and a supporting aviation section based on the 160th SOAR.

2021.09.28 09:41 Tenebrousgent Thoth

I knew Thoth had many domains: writing, recording the judgement of the weighing-the-heart-ceremony, medicine, and the moon. Recently I've seen that he's considered the god of reckonings, too. Yet, I can't seem to find much to back up that claim. Does anyone have any sources for that?

2021.09.28 09:41 jessquit Question about LN channel created with channel factory

If I have a 2-2 channel, then when I close my channel I settle back to the blockchain and am holding my BTC "onchain."
If my channel was created with a CF, then when I close my channel, there is supposedly no on-chain transaction. So where and how am I settling?

2021.09.28 09:41 death_pigeon101 Making Custom Factories

Making Custom Factories I am fairly late in the non-free play part of the game (level 24) and so far have completed most levels by chaining together full belts of single function factories to get full belt outputs. This works but it takes ages, is boring and is not compact. Recently I have started trying to design custom factories like the ones on this sub but they are very bulky and don't produce full belts of the shape. Could someone give me some advice on designing better factories? I have included some of my attempts as examples.

2021.09.28 09:41 popcwn Am I the only one who’s struggling with soap brows? :(

I tried about three different brands and I always Seem to have the same issue - after about an hour, the soap starts to dry and turn white, literally makes it look like I have dandruff in my brows 😩.
I tried to use less soap more water, but is does the exact same thing AND doesn’t hold my brows. Btw - I don’t have really crazy brows or anything (I wish). If anyone has any tips I would love to hear! ♡

im new to reddit and dont know how to insert images into the post. if you would like to read the post with images heres the link to my original google doc
Moonsilver Key is Insane
To understand my little article you will need to understand what a “mana ability” is according to Magic's official rules.
Magic Comp. Rules 2021
605.1. Some activated abilities and some triggered abilities are mana abilities, which are subject to special rules. Only abilities that meet either of the following two sets of criteria are mana abilities, regardless of what other effects they may generate or what timing restrictions (such as “Activate only as an instant”) they may have.
605.1a An activated ability is a mana ability if it meets all of the following criteria: it doesn’t require a target, it could add mana to a player’s mana pool when it resolves, and it’s not a loyalty ability.
605.1b A triggered ability is a mana ability if it meets all of the following criteria: it doesn’t require a target , it triggers from the activation or resolution of an activated mana ability or from mana being added to a player’s mana pool, and it could add mana to a player’s mana pool when it resolves.
605.2. A mana ability remains a mana ability even if the game state doesn’t allow it to produce mana. Example: A permanent has an ability that reads “{TAP}: Add {G} for each creature you control.” The ability is still a mana ability even if you control no creatures or if the permanent is already tapped.
This means that you could get a huge range of stuff that you wouldn't expect.
You could get a mana rock with cycling or one that you can sacrifice to draw cards (guild lockets, guild cluestones, mind stone, dreamstone hedron, hedron archive) and use it to draw a card late game. Not efficient but it effectively takes 2 cards out of your deck that are useless. And if you are flooded it's not like you're using the mana for anything anyways. This is probably the worst use but Moonsilver key is still better then basically any mana rock on in terms of value and range just from this alone.
Speaking of range, I'm going to highlight some interesting uses I've found so far.
Fetching these out of your deck can significantly impact the game. I also bring these up because you don't have to be in the colors/deck to tutor them up the usual way. Mono green now has a way to tutor Great Henge to hand for 3 mana. Colorless Eldrazi can get Forsaken Monument.
There are lots of mana rocks that are extremely useful that you could find. It's really hard to see a reason why this shouldn't be in your deck. Hell, you probably already run wayfarer's bauble. Moonsilver key is strictly better
But I don't need to keep rambling on about how this card is very good. You are smart people, you can see what I'm talking about. Below I have included some more cards that have Cool interactions with Moonsilver Key.
The most interesting and unexpected by far is its use with Altars. This works because they meet all the criteria (it doesn’t require a target, it could add mana to a player’s mana pool when it resolves, and it’s not a loyalty ability.) This is a game changer for Aristocrat strategies. If you're in Orzhov you can just use one of the many tutors available to you but Moonsilver Key really streamlines your deck. It's definitely better than Enlightened Tutor, goes right to hand and it isn't taking up a slot in the main deck. It still finds a basic land or a mana rock if you already have a sacrifice outlet or if you need to ramp early game.
All things considered this helps creature based decks the most. Dragons specifically, PM me if you find any cool interactions that I missed!

Special thanks to Cummie/GeovanniValencia for helping me make sure I've got the rulings right.
